What is ScoliSnap Screen?
ScoliSnap Screen is a groundbreaking new scoliosis screening method which uses standing MRI to check for a curve in 3-dimensions WITHOUT any radiation, unlike an x-ray. The spine is imaged in 1 minute and provides a quick, easy, and accurate way to check if your child has scoliosis.
What is ScoliSnap Screen+?
ScoliSnap Screen+ provides the same accurate standing MRI scoliosis screen as ScoliSnap Screen but also includes a clinical examination to check for underlying problems that could cause scoliosis to develop. It includes:
- The Cox Test: Helps detect a tight spinal cord and nerve tension which can lead to scoliosis.
- Adam’s Bending Forward Test: A traditional scoliosis screening method enhanced with a Scoliometer to better detect potential curves.
What is ScoliSnap Monitor?
ScoliSnap Monitoring is a standing scoliosis snapshot that takes between 1 and 3 minutes to complete. Using radiation-free MRI, it can monitor the spine in 3-dimensions to detect when a curve may start worsening. ScoliSnap Monitor can often replace traditional scoliosis x-rays ordered by doctors.
Eligibility and Recommendations
Who needs a ScoliSnap Screen?
100% of children between the ages of 7 and 14 should be screened to detect a curve as early as possible. As children go through growth spurts, screening is essential to catch rapid curve development.
Who needs a ScoliSnap Monitor?
Children and adults already diagnosed with scoliosis need ScoliSnap Monitoring to closely observe any changes in their condition without radiation exposure.
When is ScoliSnap Monitor Recommended?
For children and teens with scoliosis, monitoring every 3 months is recommended to catch any curve progression early. For adults with stable curves, annual monitoring is suggested. For adults with unstable curves or undergoing treatment, monitoring every 3-6 months may be advised.
