When scoliosis can progress dramatically in less than 3 months time, then why is it so common to wait a whole year and see if it gets worse? Because X-ray radiation is harmful to the body! At Scoliosis Care CentersTM by Janzen and Janzen Chiropractic, we use standing MRI which allows us to check as often as necessary to make sure that we can reiterate our treatment as needed and correct the changing curve. This helps ensure that we provide the best treatment we possibly can. This scoliosis video highlights the benefits of MRI and how we can improve care for scoliosis while eliminating the need for x-ray exposure.
Josie, a 15 year-old girl overcame scoliosis through non surgical treatment starting when she was 10 years old here at Scoliosis Care CentersTM by Janzen and Janzen Chiropractic. Scoliosis is a three-dimensional bend and twist of the spine that can progress to the point where heart and lung function is compromised and pain becomes a factor later in life. Josie’s scoliosis treatment took 5 years but was well worth the hard work, seeing nearly 80% reduction in her curve, bringing her Cobb angle from 37° to under 9°, and living the rest of her life free from the post side effects of surgery. Thanks to her treatment, Josie has been able to pursue her dreams of modeling while continuing to play Volleyball and finishing school. Watch Josie’s scoliosis story below.
Scoliosis Care CentersTM by Janzen and Janzen Chiropractic offers an individualized treatment plan for patients battling scoliosis. While the treatment involves a variety of customized therapies and exercises, one of the biggest obstacles of overcoming scoliosis is wearing the scoliosis brace. In order to be successful, patients must wear the brace for 20+ hours a day, often dealing with discomfort. These dedicated young ladies have avoided scoliosis surgery through this treatment and are here to share their motivating stories in these scoliosis videos and advice with you with managing the day-to-day life wearing a Silicon Valley BraceTM
