Josie’s Scoliosis Success Story
Josie is a classic example of a scoliosis success story here at Scoliosis Care Centers. Josie is now 15-year-old who was diagnosed with scoliosis when she was 9. After being diagnosed, She took the all too common “wait and see” approach for one year. Then Josie’s scoliosis worsened to a more severe curve of 39°, just below surgery range. Both Josie and her mom, Darci, wanted to avoid the Spinal fusion surgery if at all possible.
Arriving at Scoliosis Care Centers
After a few days of research, Darci discovered Scoliosis Care Centers by Janzen and Janzen Chiropractic. Excited about the non-surgical comprehensive treatment provided here, they decided to give it a shot. Despite having to fly across the country from Michigan to California, they quickly hopped on a plane a week later to visit our facility. When they arrived they were immediately impressed by the personal scoliosis care provided and the doctors and support staff (see image to the right, Darci, Josie, and Dr. Matt Janzen smile for the camera).
Hard Work Pays Off
Fast forward 5 years and Josie’s curve is now just 9°. The spinal curvature threshold for what is considered scoliosis is 10°. Thus, the hard work of keeping up with her spinal weighting exercises, nerve stretching, and wearing our Silicon Valley 3D brace paid off. Thanks to her treatment, Josie was able to pursue her dreams of modeling while continuing to play Volleyball and finishing school. Josie is an inspiration to our many scoliosis fighters, doctors and support staff here at Scoliosis Care Centers. She demonstrated that hard work and perseverance really do pay off.
